Global recovery programs

A fundamentally new discipline that has become one of the ideological markers of this educational program as a whole. It is normative (mandatory) for study by all students in the 1st year of study. The discipline introduces to the history, logics of proceedings and publicly-known results of international programs of post-war recovery in the 20th century. In particular, France, Japan, Germany and Italy after the Second World War, Korea, Croatia & Bosnia, Cyprus, Colombia, Poland – all of them have their own unique experience, which is desirable for Ukrainians to know. A significant place in the discipline is occupied by the development of the world security system and NATO, which, of course, was then a factor in the economic recovery and institutional development of the affected countries, and is also relevant for Ukraine now.

Practical classes are built around the analysis & discussion of cases from different countries, which, nevertheless, are not similar to each other and require the student to have an original and systematic view in retrospect.

Volume of study load: 5 ECTS credits.

  • to give students an understanding of the logic of building and understanding the known results of foreign recovery programs in the 20th century
  • as a result, it will allow a student to better clarify deep and non-obvious cause-and-effect relationships in post-war state construction, which will be logically combined with materials in other disciplines provided by the curriculum.
