Modern standards of work with personal data

This is one more principally new discipline that associated with the rapid development of digital technologies both in our everyday life & in administrative services, rights protection and information exchange. Today and literally tomorrow, there probably won’t be any services that can’t be ‘reached’ online. And secure access through personal data & our ‘digital identity’ is the key to accessing them all.

The discipline covers all the main and important phenomena, trends, international standards (GDPR and corporate regulations), legal mechanisms & valuable cases in the acquisition and use of personal data for Ukrainians and Europeans.

The discipline offers not only ‘classic’ topics on personal data protection, but also author’s summaries of best practices on topics such as personal data protection problems and global trends in personal data work; the general logic of organizing work on personal data, measures to ensure the protection of personal data; experience of taking into account GDPR requirements in the organization of digital public services and corporate management; modern mechanisms of personal data protection in Ukrainian digital solutions and product development. This is the knowledge that will be very important for the understanding of a modern manager in the public service & in corporate governance.

Practice lessons are built around discussion of real cases from different countries, and will be useful for students with different previous experiences.

Volume of study load: 5 ECTS credits.
