Public policy & geopolitics

The discipline is one of the fundamental and mandatory to learn for all our students. It is taught by an experienced professor who has also been conducting relevant research for 20 years in this field.

The discipline involves familiarizing students with:

  • basic provisions, concepts, problems and principles of political theory, patterns of development and principles of organization of the political sphere of society, functioning of political institutions in conditions of democratization of society, the place and role of the individual in political life;
  • the origins and content of political and geopolitical teachings in their historical development, to present this development as a certain tradition of political thinking;
  • the content of political activity in modern public administration;
  • methods of analyzing the political process and developing optimal state decisions, taking into account the specifics of Ukrainian public administration system

Volume of study load: 5 ECTS credits.

Discipline will help the student to learn

  • to know the theoretical and applied principles of development and analysis of public policy, the foundations and technologies of management decision-making
  • to solve complex tasks of public management and administration, taking into account the requirements of legislation, to identify legal conflicts and problems, to develop projects of normative legal acts to eliminate them.
  • to apply modern models, approaches and technologies, international experience in the design and reorganization of management and general organizational structures.
  • to develop sound management decisions taking into account the issues of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, take into account the goals, existing legislative, time and resource limitations, evaluate the political, social, economic and environmental consequences of decision options
