Information security & cyber security in public authorities

This discipline is devoted to the study of the basics of information security and cyber security and more understanding of managerial relationships in organization of combating cyber threats in a context of information security and cyber security in public authorities. In the discipline, the institutions of ensuring information security and cyber security of Ukraine, the EU and NATO, the basics of social engineering through ‘digital hygiene’ as a modern norm of behavior are studied; malware and other cyber threats are studied as modern types of hybrid cyber threats; the basics of Internet security, mobile device security, technical standards for personal information protection and e-mail security are studied.

Volume of study load: 5 ECTS credits.

  • to set and be able to solve the problems of public management and management, taking into account the requirements of legislation, identify legal conflicts and problems, develop drafts of normative legal acts to eliminate them
  • to develop well-founded management decisions taking into account issues of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, take into account goals, existing legislative, time and resource constraints, evaluate political, social, economic and environmental consequences of decision options
  • Be able to develop political and managerial measures in conditions of hybrid threats, predict their appearance and possible consequences of their implementation, make appropriate political and managerial decisions
